Fundación PepsiCo, cumple 10 años promoviendo el desarrollo de las comunidades en Chile

  • A través de distintos programas de Educación, Salud y Bienestar, hace realidad la filosofía de Desempeño con Propósito de la compañía.
  • Con un trabajo en conjunto con más de 350 mil personas ha entregado avances en materia de nutrición, Responsabilidad Social y Sustentabilidad Ambiental.
  • Durante un evento de celebración, PepsiCo entregó también sus avances corporativos en materia de sustentabilidad corporativa.

Junio de 2018.- Reducir el impacto ambiental en el planeta y empoderar a las personas, y mejorar su portafolio de productos hacia alternativas más saludables, son los tres pilares de la filosofía de Desempeño con Propósito que guía las operaciones de PepsiCo en todo el mundo. Convicción fundamental que se hace realidad a través de la Fundación PepsiCo que cumple 10 años en Chile.

Con la misión de promover el desarrollo de la comunidad mediante programas de Educación, Salud y Bienestar, la labor de la Fundación se basa en un esquema integral de relaciones con la comunidad, a través de programas destinados a fomentar el trabajo en red con instituciones comunitarias. Tarea que ha permitido trabajar en conjunto con 350 mil personas que durante este tiempo recibieron apoyo en áreas como nutrición y cuidado del medioambiente.

Un ejemplo del gran trabajo que ha realizado la fundación fue lo vivido en 2017. La cantidad de personas a las que alcanzaron sus programas y voluntariados se elevaron a la cifra total de 97.824, un 88% más que el año anterior. En total, Fundación PepsiCo estuvo presente en 22 comunas del país, 8 regiones, 34 colegios, capacitó a 950 mujeres, y recicló 1.205 toneladas de residuos. 

“Sabemos que el éxito de nuestro negocio no se detiene en la venta de nuestros productos. Precisamente la filosofía de Desempeño con Propósito nos dice que nuestro éxito está intrínsecamente vinculado a la sostenibilidad del mundo que nos rodea”, dijo José María Bagnardi Gerente General de PepsiCo Chile.

En alimentos, la compañía continuará perfeccionando sus opciones de alimentos y bebidas al reducir los azúcares añadidos, las grasas saturadas y los niveles de sodio en su portafolio de productos. Junto con lo anterior, para el 2025 se aspira a que las marcas de nutrición diaria de hidratación tengan un crecimiento mayor dentro del portafolio.

Para proteger el planeta, en el ámbito medioambiental el propósito de PepsiCo es reducir el impacto ambiental del sistema alimentario a través de la eficiencia operativa y la movilización de sus proveedores y socios comerciales. En este campo, la compañía ha reducido su indicador de consumo específico de agua en más del 80%. Gracias a la planta de tratamiento de efluentes recicla el agua de sus procesos y reinyectándola al sistema.

Con el fin de empoderar a las personas de todo el mundo y fomentar el desarrollo social en todas sus operaciones, su cadena de suministro y las comunidades, PepsiCo planea invertir $100 millones, en sociedad con la Fundación PepsiCo, para apoyar iniciativas que beneficiarán a 12.5 millones de mujeres y niñas de todo el mundo para 2025.

Fomento a la economía, vida saludable y el cuidado del medioambiente

A través de sus distintos programas, Fundación PepsiCo trabaja para crear un futuro más sano para la gente y el planeta:

  • AVANZA – Mujeres con Propósito: Capacita a mujeres con herramientas de administración, finanzas, marketing y recursos humanos con el fin de transformar sus emprendimientos en negocios sustentables y así ser un pilar fundamental en sus vidas. Se ha consolidado como una plataforma de capacitación y aprendizaje para más de 100 emprendedoras que se han graduado
  • Activarse: Promueve el desarrollo de estilos de vida saludable, a través de alimentación nutritiva, actividad física y el cuidado del medio ambiente. Realizado desde 2013, ha beneficiado a 1.264 estudiantes impactando positivamente a más de 5.000 personas.
  • Educación para el Desarrollo: Acompaña a jóvenes de educación media en el gran desafío que significa construir un proyecto de vida. En sus años de ejecución suma 258 jóvenes y más de 1.000 personas beneficiadas.
  • Mi Residuo Mi Responsabilidad: Educa a comunidades escolares respecto al manejo responsable y sustentable de los residuos que generamos día a día gracias a los puntos limpios que se han instalado en diversos colegios de Santiago
  • Talleres Vive Saludable: Generamos conciencia en los niños sobre la importancia del cuidado del medio ambiente. En 2017 más de 30.000 niños aprenden sobre calentamiento global junto a Tiranosaurio Rex animatrónico.

Importante en el desarrollo de estos programas son los socios de Fundación PepsiCo. Luciana Di Paolo, Presidenta de Fundación PepsiCo, agradeció la labor de FUNDES, Casa de la Paz, TriCiclos, Factoría Creativa, “toda esta labor no sería igual sin nuestros socios. Ellos nos permiten llegar, cada año, a más familias y así cumplir con nuestro propósito”.

Y los esfuerzos de la compañía no se detienen. Durante el evento PepsiCo anunció que para 2019, todas las bandejas exhibidoras de sus productos en los distintos puntos de venta a lo largo del país estarán hechos de material reciclado de los propios empaques.
