Expertos de Shell Lubricantes entregan seis consejos claves para no tener problemas con la inspección de tu vehículo

La tasa de rechazo en las PRT (plantas de revisión técnica) va desde un 45% a un 60% solo por aspectos visuales, detalles que, junto a otras fallas, pueden solucionarse antes de llevar el auto a su chequeo. Para ello, expertos de Shell entregan los siguientes aspectos a considerar para no pasar un mal rato.
 
 
 
1- Inspección visual: revisar el estado de todas luces del vehículo, el estado de los neumáticos y compruebe los kilómetros recorridos y los restantes para la próxima mantención. Si le faltan pocos kilómetros se recomienda pedir hora en el taller.
 
 
 
2- Lubricante del motor: para evitar daños en el motor y otras partes del vehículo es indispensable revisar cuatro fluidos que son de vital importancia para el correcto funcionamiento del auto: líquido de frenos, aceite de la dirección hidráulica, anticongelante y el lubricante de motor. “Éste último es el más importante y debe chequearse constantemente. Si el vehículo tiene aceite en exceso, el motor lo quemará, acortando la vida del catalizador. En el caso opuesto, si tiene poco aceite, genera un mayor desgaste y termina forzando el motor. Por lo mismo, es fundamental utilizar la viscosidad, aprobación y especificación que indique el fabricante”, asegura Justo Verdejo, subgerente de ventas industriales de Lubricantes Shell.
 
 
3- Revisar el sistema de freno: las Pastillas, el freno de mano y el líquido de freno deben ser inspeccionados en cada mantención del vehículo. Siempre estar atento a señales como requerir más presión del pedal para frenar, vibraciones al frenar o ruidos en el sector de los neumáticos al frenar son señales de que debo realizar un chequeo del sistema de frenos.
 
 
4- Refrigeración: verifique que el nivel del refrigerante esté a la altura que indica el recipiente. Luego, inspeccione mangueras, radiador, cañerías y todos los elementos que estén a la vista. En caso de falta de líquido, se debe adicionar refrigerante, que cumpla los requerimientos que indica el fabricante o agua destilada (como medida alternativa de emergencia). Jamás agregue agua de la llave, pues ésta causará daños al motor.
 
 
5- Batería: la gran mayoría tiene una vida útil promedio de 4 años. Como recomendación, se debe revisar que las conexiones estén limpias y debidamente aseguradas.
 
 
6- Elementos extras: se debe chequear el correcto funcionamiento de cierre de puertas y cinturones de seguridad.
