Exportaciones de cerezas podrían superar las 316 mil toneladas esta temporada

De acuerdo a las proyecciones del rubro agroexportador de cerezas, los envíos de esta fruta superarán las 316 mil toneladas en esta temporada, lo que es un 36% más de las 228.591 que fueron exportadas en el periodo anterior (noviembre 2019 a febrero 2020). En cuanto a montos, se deberían llegar a los US$2.000 millones.
En la Asociación de Exportadores de Frutas (Asoex) sostienen que en la temporada pasada, China concentró el 93% de los envíos, y que este año, de las 181 mil toneladas enviadas hasta ahora, China ya acapara el 95% de los envíos.
En ese escenario, el Comité de Cerezas de Asoex junto a ProChile y la plataforma de comercio electrónico Tmall, realizaron una promoción de estas frutas nacionales en el mercado de China y en uno de los edificios más altos del centro de Shanghái, el “Shanghái North Bund W Hotel”.
Lo anterior toma relevancia ya que de acuerdo a datos del Banco Central, en 2019 los envíos de cerezas aumentaron 44% interanual hasta US$1.562 millones, cifra que se explicó justamente por la mayor demanda de China, lo que hizo que la cereza superara por primera vez a la uva (US$1.194 millones) como la principal fruta de exportación.
Cabe mencionar que las cerezas son utilizadas, entre otros fines, como regalo para el año nuevo chino (que parte el 12 de febrero), lo que lleva a ese país a aumentar ostensiblemente la compra de este producto en los meses de diciembre, enero y parte de febrero.
