La “perfección sistémica”, un camino y no un hito

Una empresa que se encuentra en etapas de implementación sistémica, e incluso al tomar la decisión de contratar un software o sistema de administración, más allá de firmar una orden con compra, está asumiendo una responsabilidad que tiene que ver con el perfeccionamiento de los procesos de la compañía.

 

En muchas ocasiones, los mismos encargados o gerentes trasmiten ideológicamente el límite de la perfección o la perfección como límite absoluto, pero es un error dada la naturaleza de  cambio puesto que un proceso de implementación o implantación se debe resolver con objetivos reales, acordes a la realidad de la empresa y del entorno, de las capacidades del capital humano y del software elegido.

 

Pareto fue un escritor, filósofo, economista e ingeniero del Siglo XVIII quien postuló un curioso principio del 80/20, o también llamado Ley o Principio de Pareto. Este describe un fenómeno estadístico en donde el 20% que contribuye para un efecto común, también contribuye en un 80%  al total del efecto.

 

Este principio es utilizado en muchos escenarios, por sobretodo en el área de la informática, control de calidad y en el área de la seguridad de la información. Siguiendo este principio, las empresas y las personas pueden ahorrar esfuerzos y abocar los esfuerzos a lo esencial.

 

Estos son algunos ejemplos que son aplicados al momento de implementar un sistema con este principio:

 

-El 80% de los procesos se soluciona con la intervención del 20% del personal.

-El 80% son procesos estándar y el 20% son procesos puntuales.

-El 80% de mis procesos, los soluciono al implementar un 20% de mi software.

-En una capacitación, el funcionario retendrá en primer plano solo el 20% y para 80% solo necesitará ayuda de un material de apoyo.

 

Es por esto que llegar a la perfección no es un horizonte al momento de implantar, sino que es poder solucionar o abordar con eficiencia el 80% de los casos y tener los recursos suficientes para poder abordar los asuntos de 20%. En simples palabras, la perfección es un camino filosófico que debe ser continuo, medible, dinámico y finito.
