AlgoCerca, la app móvil gratuita que busca fortalecer lazos comunitarios, una economía justa y proteger la información de sus usuarios

En plena pandemia por el Covid-19 en el país y al ver como sus vecinos, conocidos y familiares comenzaban a producir o vender distintos productos como una forma de generar ingresos en un momento económico complejo, tres amigos y emprendedores comenzaron a trabajar en una aplicación móvil que fortaleciera los lazos comunitarios en sus barrios y comunas, promoviera el comercio a precios justos y el intercambio de diversas especies y que, al mismo tiempo, proteja la información de sus usuarios.

De esta manera nació AlgoCerca, asegura Willem Schuitemaker, uno de sus creadores, quien cuenta que “con mis amigos Víctor Díaz y Patricio Labarca partimos este proyecto hace tres meses, en medio de la pandemia, ya que vimos como en nuestra calle, edificio, nuestros conocidos y familiares comenzaban a producir o vender cosas para ganar dinero. Googleamos y nos dimos cuenta de que no existían en Chile aplicaciones enfocadas en el intercambio entre personas que viven unas cerca de otras, entre vecinos y vecinas, por lo que nos decidimos a desarrollar la aplicación motivados por crear una herramienta útil para mucha gente, que incentive el fortalecimiento de lazos comunitarios, una economía justa y que proteja la información de las personas”.

En el mismo sentido, Schuitemaker agrega que las características principales y atributos más representativos de AlgoCerca son que “es una app móvil gratuita que sirve para ver en un mapa quienes venden cosas cerca de ti, y está enfocado a personas que están realizando producción artesanal de todo tipo de productos y también servicios, principalmente comida. También tiene funcionalidades orientadas a la comunicación no-comercial entre vecinos.  En términos del espíritu del proyecto, es una iniciativa sin fines de lucro que busca generar lazos en el barrio. Por eso la primera versión de la aplicación incluye un espacio para ‘mensajes al barrio’, los que se muestran en un muro o ‘feed’ como el de otras redes sociales, pero en este caso ordenados por cercanía. De todas formas, estas funcionalidades barriales tendrán que ir adaptándose, tendremos que ir re-diseñándolas a partir de lo que veamos que funciona y le sirve a la gente en lo concreto”.

Además, “por el lado de su función principal, te permite crear una tienda y subir anuncios gratis. Esta tienda se muestra en un mapa para que vecinos/as o personas que van pasando cerca o trabajan ahí vean tus anuncios, y así, quienes venden tengan un canal para mostrarse localmente, y para quienes quieren comprar, exista una forma de saber qué puedo encontrar cerca de donde estoy. A mucha gente le sorprendería la variedad, calidad y precio de los productos que ofrecen sus vecinos. Quienes estamos en grupos de WhatsApp de la calle o el edificio tenemos la información de lo que nuestros vecinos venden, pero como WhatsApp es una aplicación de chat, es común que esa información se pierda en la conversación”, destaca el emprendedor.

En cuanto a cómo funciona y cuál es el rango de su cobertura, Willem Schuitemaker explica que   “para crear una cuenta hay que tener un mail, registrarse, lo cual no toma más de 1 minuto, para luego ya poder subir anuncios o mensajes al barrio. Cuando alguien vea tu anuncio y te quiera contactar, te llegará un mensaje a WhatsApp, una solución simple por ahora pero eficaz. Nuestro rango de cobertura es todo Chile. Si bien hicimos una prueba inicial en la comuna de Ñuñoa, nuestro plan es dar a conocer la aplicación en todo el territorio y potenciar aquellos lugares en los que vemos que se han empezado a crear varias tiendas. Esperamos de aquí a fin de año haber fortalecido algunas comunidades que ya frecuenten el uso de AlgoCerca, en al menos 3 ciudades del país. Sin embargo también estamos tanteando las posibilidades de utilidad de la aplicación en zonas rurales o para organizaciones de solidaridad entre vecinos/as”.
