El negativo impacto de la pandemia en el mercado laboral ha afectado a diversos sectores, siendo las mujeres las más perjudicadas debido a los obstáculos para encontrar un puesto de trabajo, como también impedimentos para realizar las labores en el hogar.
Según el boletín estadístico “Género y empleo: impacto de la crisis económica por Covid-19”, elaborado por el INE a partir de los resultados obtenidos en la Encuesta Nacional de Empleo (ENE), al menos 1.286.673 personas declararon que no han pudieron conseguir trabajo por causa de la crisis sanitaria.
Las conclusiones del informe del INE consideran los meses peak de la pandemia (mayo, junio, julio de 2020), revelando que los meses con peor tasa de participación laboral, fue el trimestre de abril-junio de 2020 para las mujeres y mayo-julio de 2020 para los hombres, alcanzando un 41,2% y 62,7%, respectivamente.
En el último trimestre de 2020, 4 de cada 10 mujeres en edad de trabajar estaban ocupadas, mientras que para los hombres las cifras fueron 6 de cada 10, por lo que la ocupación y participación ha sido distinta de acuerdo al sexo.
En este mismo trimestre, un 33,9% de las mujeres declaró que no buscaron trabajo debido al rol que poseen en el hogar y las permanentes tareas que deben efectuar en ese espacio. En el caso de los hombres, la razón principal para la negativa al mercado laboral es el hecho de estar estudiando, con un 38,4%. Solo un 1,7% de los hombres declararon no buscar trabajo por las tareas y rol doméstico.
Gobierno busca remediar la situación laboral para el sector femenino
La caída en participación laboral femenina en un 40% ha puesto en marcha al Ejecutivo para trabajar con los gremios empresariales e intentar recuperar un porcentaje de las más de 650 mil mujeres que salieron del mercado laboral.
La subsecretaria del Ministerio de la Mujer y Equidad de Género, María José Abud, sostuvo que “el empleo femenino se ha visto mucho más afectado en esta crisis que el del hombre. Es lamentable ver cómo hemos retrocedido más de una década en empleos femeninos”.
En esta situación, la Confederación de Producción y Comercio (CPC) y sus seis ramas, junto a Mónica Zalaquett, han estado trabajando para establecer un vínculo entre los privados y aquellas mujeres que están buscando empleo.
También se encuentran trabajando en una Agenda de Género, que busca crear y establecer políticas para mejorar la situación laboral femenina, fomentando una mejor conciliación laboral.
Además, María José Abud, señaló que sumado a todo lo anterior, la cartera se encuentra trabajando con Hacienda y Trabajo por el proyecto de ley de Sala Cuna Universal.
Abud agregó que éste ha tenido una buena recepción de parte del mundo privado, y que solo resta “buscar consenso y voluntades” para finalmente lograr avanzar en esta iniciativa.
