Reacciona por el Clima: 250 personas ya se capacitaron como recicladores base

Se trata de la primera etapa de este programa de Educación Ambiental que busca acercar y promover hábitos sostenibles en la ciudadanía como puerta de entrada a la acción climática.
 
En el marco de la campaña Reacciona por el Clima, se completó la primera etapa de educación ambiental, la de Recicladores por el Clima, que busca acercar y promover hábitos sostenibles en la ciudadanía, como puerta de entrada para combatir el cambio climático. Colaboraron en esta campaña las Fundaciones Avina, El Árbol, Latitud R, y la Asociación Nacional de Recicladores de Chile.
 
Durante octubre, 250 personas se capacitaron como “Recicladores de Base”, para que se conviertan en monitores de acción climática. A través de talleres virtuales y material audiovisual, se capacitó a los recicladores en temáticas de cambio climático, ley Responsabilidad Extendida del Productor y Fomento al Reciclaje (Ley REP), la economía circular, y el rol de los y las recicladores, además de incluir una capacitación específica para el trabajo seguro en pandemia.
 
“Los recicladores de base son actores clave en el impulso de la cultura del reciclaje y la economía circular. Como Ministerio del Medio Ambiente estamos impulsando una reactivación que no sólo sea sostenible sino que también inclusiva. Ejemplo de ello es el fondo para el reciclaje Exequiel Estay que tiene como objetivo financiar proyectos que, basados en la economía circular, potencien el reconocimiento y la formalización de los recicladores de base. Con ‘Recicladores por el Clima’ seguimos impulsando este llamado a sumarse al cuidado del medio ambiente”, comentó la Ministra del Medio Ambiente y Presidenta de COP25, Carolina Schmidt.
 
Los recicladores recibirán un diploma y un reconocimiento por la aprobación del programa, y pueden recurrir al material para seguir difundiendo y concientizando sobre la relación del reciclaje y el cambio climático.
 
“Primero que todo tener conciencia de nuestro consumo: no ser sobre consumista. Y segundo, tener claridad de cómo se recicla y por qué reciclamos. El reciclaje no es moda, no puede ser porque mi amiga lo hace yo lo voy a hacer. Esto es un cambio de vida, de paradigma también para nosotros. Esto es de conciencia y de amor. Esto es para proteger nuestro planeta. La madre tierra, en esta tremenda casa que nos deja vivir, necesita de nuestros cuidados y está pidiendo hace rato, desesperadamente, que nos hagamos cargo”, comentó Soledad Mella, Presidenta de los Recicladores.
 
Por su parte, la Gerenta Programática de la Fundación Avina, Pamela Ríos, comentó que “los recicladores y recicladoras en todo Chile están haciendo un aporte gigante y es muy importante y que ellos mismos lo sepan y comprendan, desde Fundación Avina estamos felices de poder colaborar en este proceso de poder estar contribuyendo y que este sea un paso más en el reconocimiento y en la inclusión de los recicladores en todo lo que es la gestión de residuos en Chile”, comentó Pamela Ríos, Gerenta Programática de Fundación Avina. 
 
En el marco de Reacciona por el Clima, se seguirán desarrollando instancias de educación ambiental, tanto para la ciudadanía como para líderes comunitarios, con la colaboración de los recicladores ya capacitados. El objetivo es convocar a las personas de todo Chile a sumar acciones concretas e involucrarse en la lucha contra la crisis ambiental en que nos encontramos.
