Chile se ubica en segundo lugar de Latinoamérica en monto total de inversión en proyectos de infraestructura

De acuerdo a los registros de Business News Americas (BNamericas), según su base de datos de proyectos de infraestructura, Chile se ubicó en segundo lugar, después de Brasil, en monto total de inversión en infraestructura en Latinoamérica con US$40 mil millones y estaría liderando en número de planificaciones, ya que se anota 81 iniciativas.
Según BNamericas, hay 373 obras de infraestructura logística, de transportes y salud activos, cartera total que considera una inversión de casi US$300.000 millones. Eso sí, una parte importante de estos registros son proyectos que están en una fase temprana de desarrollo, por lo que su diseño, costo y ejecución variará en el tiempo.
Uno de los sectores más afectados según el reporte es el aeroportuario, debido al profundo desplome de la actividad aérea y la incertidumbre sobre cuándo retornará a los niveles anteriores a la emergencia sanitaria.
En tanto, más del 40% de los proyectos superiores a US$100 millones que figuran en la base de proyectos de infraestructura de BNamericas corresponde a iniciativas viales, incluidos túneles y puentes. Del total de 158 proyectos, 137 son carreteras urbanas o interurbanas incluidas nuevas rutas, ensanchamientos, pavimentación entre otras, mientras 21 incluyen puentes, viaductos y túneles.
Según el documento, en el segmento vial, Brasil es la gran estrella, tanto por la envergadura de sus iniciativas en concurso como por el interés de los inversionistas.
Chile, por su parte, sobresale por el número de este tipo de proyectos en cartera, con 35 obras. El texto menciona que el país fue pionero en el régimen de concesiones viales en Sudamérica y ya ha entrado en la etapa denominada segunda concesión, es decir, la relicitación de la obra tras haber finalizado el contrato original, la cual considera ensanchamientos, mejoras y recambio de infraestructura.
“Un buen ejemplo es la segunda concesión de la Ruta 5, tramo Temuco-Río Bueno y accesos a Valdivia, en la zona sur de Chile, que considera una inversión de US$543 millones para el mejoramiento de 260 kilómetros, ampliaciones, terceras pistas, rehabilitación de calzadas, rectificaciones de trazado, reemplazo de puentes antiguos y tramos de calles de servicio, entre otras obras. Se licitará en el cuarto trimestre”, indica el informe.
En el ámbito hospitalario, Chile sobresale por el número de proyectos. Se trata de 17 establecimientos que figuran en el plan de infraestructura hospitalaria lanzado por el Gobierno a principios del 2019. El proyecto individual de mayor envergadura es la Reposición del Hospital Sótero del Río, de Puente Alto.
