Cerca de 10.500 trabajadores recuperaron sus empleos tras apertura de restaurantes en zonas de Preparación

El ministro de Economía, Lucas Palacios, hizo un positivo balance sobre la reapertura de restaurantes en espacios abiertos durante las Fiestas Patrias. Según expuso, hay 3.861 restaurantes en el país emplazados en comunas en Fase 3 (o Preparación), que es donde se les permite abrir de acuerdo con el plan «Paso a paso», de los cuales el 45% (cerca de 1.700) recibieron público este fin de semana, utilizando espacios abiertos o terrazas.

 

“Más de 10.500 personas, solo por esta medida, han podido recuperar sus puestos de trabajo. ¿Y por qué esto es tan importante? Porque el trabajo no se compara con ninguna política pública. La mejor política social es el trabajo y entonces tenemos esa responsabilidad moral de hacer que las personas vayan recuperando sus puestos de trabajo para que puedan llevar el sustento a sus familias”, señaló el titular de Economía.

 

En el anuncio, el secretario de Estado también estuvo en la compañía de la alcaldesa de Providencia, Evelyn Matthei, quien destacó el efecto positivo con que respondieron las familias que concurrieron a los restaurantes que abrieron sus terrazas o se instalaron en espacios públicos, esto tras el acuerdo alcanzado con representantes gremiales del sector gastronómico para permitir esta reapertura.

 

“Fue un buen acuerdo porque efectivamente vimos a muchas familias gozando acá. Este Patio Bellavista estuvo lleno, como también la calle Manuel Montt y muchas otras donde nuestros restaurantes han podido sacar sus mesas y sillas a la calle. Yo creo que, en la medida que haya diálogo, que haya respeto, que haya responsabilidad, vamos a salir adelante todos juntos. Vamos a poder ir recuperando los empleos, pero lo que ha sido clave acá efectivamente es la conversación entre el municipio, el sector privado y también la fiscalización”, mencionó Matthei.

 

Otro de los acompañantes de Palacios durante el anuncio fue Máximo Picallo, presidente de la Asociación Chilena de Gastronomía (Achiga), quien acotó que “actualmente, en promedio, los restaurantes que pueden funcionar los están haciendo en un 30% de aforo, eso ha permitido traer del orden del 50% de los trabajadores de vuelta. Ahí tenemos una situación con los que están todavía en comunas de la Región Metropolitana que se mantienen en cuarentena. Es importante que vayan saliendo porque o si no tenemos una discriminación respecto de esos trabajadores”.
