Personas que se declararon en quiebra subió 12% y deuda bordea los $30 millones

El desempleo y la baja actividad económica debido a las medidas sanitarias interpuestas por la pandemia del Covid-19, han perjudicado un porcentaje importante de la población y generado un alza en la cantidad de personas naturales que se han declarado en quiebra. De acuerdo a un estudio realizado por Defensa Deudores y la Universidad de Playa Ancha, en el segundo trimestre del año se observó un aumento del 12% respecto al trimestre marzo-mayo, llegando a $29,3 millones.
Se calcula que serían cerca de 1,8 millones de personas sin trabajo y, por ende, que han visto afectado sus ingresos. Respecto a estas cifras, el abogado y socio de Defensa Deudores, Ricardo Ibáñez, señaló que “la insolvencia está afectando a todos los grupos socioeconómicos. Creemos que el monto de mora de las personas que solicitan la quiebra debiese ir subiendo ante la reorganización de grandes empresas como Enjoy, en que se opta por desvincular a ejecutivos de la plana mayor. Ya no estamos hablando de que las empresas están desvinculando a la mano de obra más barata, sino que muy por el contrario, lo están haciendo con trabajadores de mucho mejor nivel”.
En el desglose del estudio por sexo, la deuda de las mujeres que solicitan la liquidación tiene un aumento del 14% en el segundo trimestre del año, respecto del primer trimestre. De esta forma, la mora llega a $26 millones y se acerca al monto de los hombres, que es de $33 millones.
Si se realiza una comparación con el primer trimestre, el tramo de edad que presenta mayor aumento en el monto de deuda corresponde a los adultos mayores, con un alza del 84%, lo que alerta sobre una preocupante situación para el abogado Ibáñez, pues “llama profundamente la atención que el tramo de edad que se encuentra más cercano al término de su vida laboral, aumente sus niveles de deuda. El monto de deuda en nuestro país crece a medida que aumentan los años y la gente que se declara en quiebra a mayor edad, lo hace de manera más drástica”.
