Hexagon Mining contribuye con desarrollo de habilidades tecnológicas de las nuevas generaciones de ingenieros en minas
Se trata de alianzas para la formación en plataformas tecnológicas de planificación minera para académicos de la carrera de Ingeniería en Minas de INACAP y algunas profesionales y estudiantes que integran la Fundación Red Ingenieras de Minas (RIM Chile), para promover el talento digital y mejorar las competencias profesionales sin distinción de género.
En una alianza con el sector académico chileno y la sociedad civil organizada, Hexagon Mining capacitará a un grupo de docentes de la carrera de Ingeniería en Minas del Instituto Profesional INACAP y miembros de la Fundación Red Ingenieras de Minas (RIM Chile), con el objetivo de fortalecer los conocimientos de las tecnologías de planificación a lo largo de la cadena productiva minera y mejorar las competencias laborales y formativas.
Manteniendo un alto compromiso con la formación de capital humano especializado para la minería con énfasis en la innovación tecnológica, la capacitación de Hexagon Mining busca promover estándares de calidad en las herramientas TI de planificación como parte del currículo de la Formación Profesional y Técnico Profesional.
“Ambas alianzas se enmarcan en el 50º aniversario de la marca MinePlan de Hexagon Mining, una herramienta de planificación tecnológica de amplia trayectoria nacional e internacional, además de una permanente vinculación con la academia y la industria desde Australia hasta Chile. Hexagon espera transmitir los requerimientos actuales de las compañías mineras y las posibilidades que ofrecen soluciones tecnológicas de estándar internacional para las futuras decisiones en tiempos de la minería digitalizada”, señaló Carolina Toro, gerente de marketing de Hexagon Mining. La ejecutiva también valoró la oportunidad de contribuir al cierre de brechas en materia de equidad de género dentro de la industria y promover el talento digital como motor de cambio a partir de las competencias laborales.
En el caso de INACAP, se trata de un curso que debuta el mes de julio con dos ciclos de capacitación docente de la carrera de Ingeniería en Minas, de 52 horas de duración, en plataformas digitales de planificación minera.
Juan Andrés Orellana, asesor de área de la Escuela de Minería y Geomática de INACAP, señala: “Si bien la planificación minera es parte de nuestra malla curricular y de algunas asignaturas específicas, siempre estamos explorando la posibilidad de incorporar softwares dentro del currículo como herramienta complementaria. El manejo de la plataforma MinePlan será formalmente incorporada en la malla curricular en el otoño de 2021, enriqueciendo el conocimiento de nuestro cuerpo docente de la carrera en sus 6 sedes y beneficiando a cerca de 2200 estudiantes matriculados”.
Ingeniería en Minas es una carrera profesional sin licenciatura, de 4 años, símil a ingeniaría de ejecución. Orellana añade: “Somos una carrera caracterizada por el perfil digital y el dominio de ciertos softwares es parte de nuestro plan de estudio. No se trata de talleres opcionales, sino obligatorios; éste nos ayuda a fortalecer las habilidades de planificación y se suma a otros softwares de tronadura, ventilación de mina, procesamiento de minerales, mecánica de roca, entre otras.
MinePlan es una plataforma robusta que hace más competitivo el perfil de nuestros egresados en el mercado y tenemos desde ahora la intención de seguir trabajando de manera asociada con la marca y sumar otras plataformas tecnológicas construyendo una sinergia importante en el tiempo”.
Marco Arias, Líder de Equipo y Especialista Senior de Hexagon Mining, responsable del curso de capacitación, señala que: “Las empresas mineras tienen la ventaja de que las nuevas generaciones de profesionales vienen con el ADN de las tecnologías interiorizado, por lo que el quiebre tecnológico entre generaciones es cada vez menor y está asumido como algo común y parte del negocio”. En el mismo sentido, añade que precisamente está predisposición a una cultura digital, permite una fácil adopción de herramientas tecnológicas para una planificación integrada, ecosistemas que habilitan la coordinación y control de varias actividades simultáneas, y el acceso a una visión operativa de los planes, identificación de los puntos críticos, anticipación a contingencias, y respuestas más ágiles.
En cuanto a la alianza con la fundación Red Ingenieras de Mina (RIM Chile), Hexagon Mining capacitará a algunas de sus profesionales y estudiantes en desarrollo, con el propósito de enriquecer las habilidades digitales en planificación minera bajo la iniciativa “Planning Winter School”.
Nathalie Rimmelin, una de las fundadoras de Red de Ingenieras de Minas, enfatizó la importancia de potenciar el trabajo mixto, más allá del género, centrado en visibilizar el talento en los distintos sectores de la industria minera. La vocera de la ONG creada en 2018, explica que con cerca de 134 socias, entre ellas estudiantes, recién egresadas y profesionales, y 321 seguidoras, trabajan en abrir espacios diversos e inclusivos para compartir testimonios y crear redes colaborativas para entregar más habilidades y favorecer la innovación tecnológica a través de alianzas con los sectores público, privado y académico.
“Esperamos que a partir de esta actividad podamos generar más espacios de capacitación en habilidades digitales para la industria minera con énfasis en la participación femenina”, concluyó.
