Pisco MalPaso dona 2 mil litros de alcohol etílico de70 grados al Hospital de Coquimbo
La pisquera proveniente del Valle de Limarí y con cerca de cien años fabricando este destilado, nuevamente suma un aporte para ir en apoyo a recintos hospitalarios de la región.
El recinto hospitalario de Coquimbo atiende a una población asignada de más de 830 mil habitantes.
Pisco MalPaso, una empresa familiar ligada a la Región de Coquimbo por una tradición de casi cien años, quiso celebrar el Día Nacional del Pisco con un gesto importante hacia la comunidad y a modo de retribución. Se trata de una segunda donación a un recinto hospitalario de la zona tras la realizada hace un mes al nuevo Hospital Provincial de Ovalle, ésta vez al Hospital San Pablo de Coquimbo ubicado en Avenida Videla S/N.
En esta ocasión, son 2 mil litros de alcohol etílico de 70 grados la donación de Pisco MalPaso, que se destinarán a la limpieza e higiene del personal de salud, sus superficies y espacios comunes del edificio hospitalario de la ciudad.
El director del Hospital de Coquimbo, el doctor Germán López Álvarez, declaró que “es de suma importancia para nosotros el aporte de Pisco MalPaso en el marco de la emergencia sanitaria que atraviesa el país, ya que refuerza la relevancia del trabajo colaborativo, que hoy más que nunca, se hace imperioso para poder enfrentar, entre todos, esta pandemia por COVID-19 que nos afecta de manera transversal”.
“Como equipo de salud, continuamos trabajando para resguardar la vida de toda nuestra comunidad”, agregó.
El Hospital de Coquimbo, que data de 1874, tiene más de 12 mil metros cuadrados en su nuevo edificio de hospitalización y cerca de 9 mil metros cuadrados para la atención de especialidades y Unidades de Apoyo. Así también, cuenta con 287 camas, más de 1400 funcionarios y una población
asignada de más de 830 mil habitantes de la región. Cabe destacar que este establecimiento es considerado como uno de los recintos hospitalarios más importantes en el Norte Chico, e incluso, que debido a la alta complejidad de sus especialidades se ha convertido en referente para otras regiones, como la de Atacama.
“La donación de Pisco MalPaso forma parte de la gratitud y compromiso que hay hacia la comunidad. Nuestra responsabilidad es tanto con nuestros consumidores como con nuestro entorno”, sostiene Oscar Andrade, Jefe Departamento Innovación y Desarrollo de la pisquera.
De pisco a alcohol etílico de 70°
Con la pandemia del Covid-19, el abastecimiento de los recintos hospitalarios se ha visto fuertemente afectado, en especial con un elemento clave para evitar la propagación de esta enfermedad infecciosa. La alta demanda del alcohol gel o de los geles desinfectantes se ha disparado en todo el mundo, quedando desabastecido el mercado. Ante esta situación, se aprobó utilizar alcohol para desinfectar, ya sea etílico o desnaturalizado.
El primero también es utilizado para elaborar bebidas alcohólicas, tales como el pisco. Debido a este motivo, la empresa decidió destinar parte de su producción, enfocando todos sus esfuerzos y a su equipo, en la elaboración de un bien escaso y vital para la salud de todos los chilenos, el alcohol etílico para uso hospitalario y no para la fabricación de su pisco.
Para elaborar el alcohol etílico a 70 grados, se ajusta el tiempo de destilación, así como el agua que se encuentra en el condensador parcial del alambique y el vapor de ingreso de éste. Además, se neutralizan los aromas. Obtenido el alcohol, se verifica su grado, y en caso de corrección, se realiza una mezcla con agua sin minerales (doble osmosis) dejándolo con la graduación adecuada para poder ser destinado a la elaboración de desinfectantes o antibacteriales.

After I originally commented I seem to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you can remove me from that service? Thanks.
